HRDCR IV-A holds 1st Multidisciplinary Research Forum
Health-related researches conducted and completed by the member-institutions of Health Research and Development Consortium Region IV-A (HRDCR IV-A) were presented in the 1st Multidisciplinary Research Forum last 05 June 2014 at the De La Salle Health Sciences Institute. The event aimed to disseminate research results for utilization in the region and to enhance the capability of regional researchers in technical paper presentation. It was organized by the HRDCR IV-A Committee on Research Utilization led by its Chair, Dr. Reuben B. De Castro, Jr.
The forum gathered 85 participants from HRDCR IV-A member-institutions who actively participated in the question and answer portion which took place every after presentation. Also present were Ms. Sabrina Elechosa, HRDCR IV-A Regional Program Officer and Ms. Wilma Santos, Cluster Head for Luzon of the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) who were tasked to award the plaque and certificate of appreciation to the presenters and panelists. Ms. Santos also gave updates on PCHRD’s programs- one was the increase in PCHRD’s grant for the Regional Research Fund which is Php 500,000.00 and the upcoming Philippine National Health Research System Week Celebration which will be held on August 12-14, 2014 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Cebu City.
Dr. Cecilia C. Pring, Assistant Vice President for Academics and Research of the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas and Dr. Reuben De Castro served as panelists for the one-day event.
The event also provided an opportunity for the researchers in Region IV-A to present their current research projects and to expand their research networks among the members of the consortium. The following were the papers presented:
